Jewellery: The Allove Diamond

dsc04818-1_zpssum7dbga

Marilyn Monroe once said that diamonds are a girl’s best friend. I’m not that shallow but I will have to admit that they are pretty and an un-boring investment to boot. 😉

I was recently invited to the launch of SK Jewellery’s new diamond. Aptly called Allove, what makes this 81-facet rock unique is the perfect pattern of 10 hearts and 10 arrows on it.

Beauty + Review: Shu Uemura Skin: Fit Foundation (Perfect for Summer!)

Shu Uemura, Shu Uemura Foundation, Skin:Fit, Skin Fit Foundation, Foundation for Oily Skin, Lightweight Foundation, SPF, Long-Lasting Foundation, Breathable Formula, Anti-Ageing, Beauty, Makeup, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, Launch, Event

I’ve had my ups and downs with foundation. From not liking it to having to wear the thickest of its kind back when I was doing TV reporting, to finding the ones that I would actually like.

And one thing is for sure: For me to freely fork out money on a foundation, it has to be good to my skin. Nothing too harsh or too heavy (so over that!). Over time, I’ve met a couple who have met the criteria but I’ve often wished for a formula that would also feel lightweight and would let my skin breathe throughout the day. Oh, and it wouldn’t hurt too if it’s long-lasting, right?

Back then, I felt that those things were too much to ask. You can always get a lightweight foundation but you can bet your your toes it won’t be lasting you for more than 4 hours in this humid Southeast Asian weather. You can get a thicker, long-lasting kind but that would just make your skin feel suffocated throughout the day.

So when I got the invite for Shu Uemura‘s launch for their new foundation, I’d have to admit that I had my doubts. A foundation that has all the things I’ve been wishing for? You’ve got to be pulling my leg!

But alas, I am amazed. By now, it’s pretty obvious that I will be raving about this product. But I suggest you read all the way till the end to see what it’s all about. Oh, and you guys do know that I nitpick, right?

I love Publika and I notice that a lot of expats do too. I guess it’s because of the fine selection of restaurants, cafes, and shops in that mall. I often go there with the husband for tapas, actually. 😉

Recently, another cafe has opened in Publika to add to the place’s list of establishments. Mono Coffee is yet another place for people who want to hang out, enjoy a cuppa, and meet up with friends in the Solaris Dutamas area.

But one thing that’s really nice about the place is the atmosphere. The lighting, the unfinished and slight industrial feel of the cafe also makes it quite relaxing.

The cafe was opened by the Brandker Group – the company behind one of Klang Valley’s most well known cafe chains: Cosans Coffee.

You can say that Mono is Cosan’s hipster brother. With Mono specialising on serving artisan brews. It’s for coffee aficionados and those who actually appreciate the proper process of getting your beans into your cup.

Beauty + Events + First Impressions: Pure Beauty Launches Youth Restore Range

Pure Beauty, Youth Restore, Skin Care, Anti-Ageing, Serum, Firming, Night Cream, Day Cream, Eye Cream, Launch, Event, Putrajaya, Cruise, Wong Chui Ling, Watsons, Malaysia

Ageing gracefully is something I aim for. Almost everyone who knows me personally have been treated, at least once, with a very long and passionate lecture on how we should start taking care of our skin early on.

I’m 25 and we all know that’s the age where the skin and the hair start to age and get easily damaged. And I’m all for damage control, ladies. 😉 That’s why, if you’ve been following this blog, you might have noticed how often I test and write about moisturisers and anti-ageing products. We’re all gonna age at some point, but I’d like to keep looking just a wee bit younger than my actual age and to keep my skin healthy by using the products that are available to me. It’s doable, I tell you. My grandmother did it.

And with all of that said, I’m pretty sure all of you can imagine how I happy I was to be invited along with my friends to the launch of Korean skin care brand Pure Beauty‘s new Youth Restore Range. The launch was held in Putrajaya, while we were on a cruise on the lake. It was so much fun hanging out with my friends and making a couple more while learning about a new skin care product.

Events: The Entertainer 2015 Launch

A blogpost! Yay! Sorry for the lack of updates the past few weeks. I’ve been up to my eyeballs with family stuff as my grandparents (mom’s side) as well as my mom and her boyfriend are here in KL for a visit. My husband and I don’t seem to have a shortage of people who love us and are more than willing to travel just to see us, don’t we?

And that’s not just because KL is so near Manila. After our current visitors, my dad who lives all the way in Sweden is also visiting followed by a friend! Or will my friend come first? I gotta check my calendar as I’m starting to confuse the dates already! Hihihi. I feel so much more loved than the usual lately, it’s just super awesome.

Speaking of love, I’m so excited to share with you guys that one of the products out there that I absolutely adore – The Entertainer – has launched their 2015 books and app! I’ve been quite excited for it as I’ve been told that this year, they will have more participating merchants which will make the product even better than last year.

Just in case you haven’t heard of The Entertainer yet, it’s a product (you can choose between a book or an app – whichever is more handy for you) that gives you access to buy 1 get 1 free offers in restaurants, bars, spas, hotels, and other awesome establishments. I previously wrote about it here and about using it in Langkawi here. Oh, and that one time my husband and I went on a quickie dessert date in one of my fave gelato stores in KL.
