So this is a post long overdue. I have no excuse other than being a busy “diplowife” these past few weeks. My schedule is hardly manageable and my husband can attest to that. I shall write about what’s been happening lately in detail but before that, allow me to dedicate this post to  a hair care and colour brand that recently made its way to the Malaysian market.

Australia’s Evo has piqued my interest during their launch due to three things:

  1. Packaging

I have a thing for great packaging. While I tend to shy away from the cutesy (unless it’s a really good product) and prefer clean, classy, and smart ones.

I instantly fell in love with the clean white packaging, the witty product names, as well as the product descriptions that make you smile – not in a cheesy way. They are straight to the point but don’t fall short at all when it comes to humour.

They are also made from recycled materials so this brand gets another point for loving the environment. 😉

Hmm. “Twisted for life”? I think the curl range would suit me well.

2. The hair colour demo was amazing

During the launch, we were treated to a preview of what the brand can do for your hair and I must say that the vibrant hair colours – which also claim to not put as much damage to your hair as other brands might – gave me the sudden urge to get myself a new look.

Though I must admit that I’m not as adventurous as Reiko here. Doesn’t she look cool with green hair? I won’t be able to pull that off these days. I might be barred from entering diplomatic events too if I try this out. So I will stick to my brondes and chestnuts and live vicariously through the models I saw that day. There is pleasure in it, I must say.

The Evo Fabuloso Pro is actually for hairdressers. It’s the brand’s line that gives your colourist unlimited possibilities when it comes to mixing colours.

So if you’re loving the unicorn/galaxy/macaron hair trend that’s been taking Instagram by storm, this range might just be the answer to your hair prayers.

Don’t you just hate it when your hair colour fades quickly? Well, Evo has a range of conditioners that you can take home to make sure you maintain your new hair colour well and make it last a lot longer.

Aside from intensifying your colour, these conditioners also promise to add shine, condition, and revive your hair.

The products are also ammonia and peroxide free – something I’m particular with because the smell of ammonia gives me a very bad migraine.

3. Extensive product line

Whatever your hair type is, it seems Evo has got you covered. Straight, curly, thin, frizzy… the list goes on.

Evo covers all aspects of hair care and styling as they even have a range of brushes.

The wood they use come from well-managed sources so there is no harm to the environment. The handles are sleek and provide you with a good grip.

After the launch, we were given products to try at home and I was given the Day of Grace leave in conditioner and Salty Dog salt texturising spray.

After using both for a little over a month, I can say that both work well with my curls.

When I need to soften the rings a bit, I spray Day of Grace on them and they instantly look a lot shinier and bouncier – even on 2nd or 3rd day hair. The effect also lasts the whole day.

As for Salty Dog, I use it on just washed hair when I need to style it and do an up-do.

After washing my hair, I often find that it can be too smooth and have lesser volume than I want to.

And this spray comes straight to my rescue. It gives my strands texture and even an extra oomph. I use it before teasing hair as well (especially when doing victory rolls) to make things easier for me.

Lately,  my husband has discovered that Salty Dog also looks great on his thin hair and he’s been using it as well to give it a lived-in look with a bit of volume. He also took it to another work trip and I’m stuck with no texturising spray till tomorrow. Haha! But all’s good. I’m ok with sharing my products with him. #Marriage. 😉

Evo is distributed by EIG in Malaysia. You can ask your hair stylist/colourist at your favourite salon if you prefer to use Evo on your hair. Happy styling my loves! 🙂

So that’s all I have for you guys today. Stay tuned for more updates soon!

Love,

Carol
