Finally coming out with this one! I’ve been wanting to put together a video about having a dog in Germany and now it’s finally here. It’s so different from how we do it in Asia and the rest of the world so I’m pretty sure I’m not the only one who was surprised when they heard about these things the first time. There are rules, taxes, and even insurance!

It is, however, one of the things that I love about living here. Dogs are treated so well. A German friend’s dad even said once that he would like to be a dog living with a Berlin family for his next life. That’s loved dogs here are. Those rules and (pretty steep) taxes also make for responsible paw-rents/owners/masters/fur-rents. I’m all for this, as you all know. Dogs are not accessories or something to make your Instagram feed cuter. They’re family. So they really do deserve all the care and protection in the world.

So if you’re planning on getting a dog or bringing your dog to Germany, here are some of the things you should know about being a responsible dog-owner in its capital. If you have more information that you’d like to share, do leave it in the comments section below!

If you found the video helpful, please do pin this photo to share the information! 🙂
