This year’s first skin care review goes to two new products from The Face Shop that have floored me. Like I said a couple of posts ago, I would be a little more picky when it comes to what I feature on this space so as to give you guys more curated content and I think these new products are a good way to start that new policy.
So The Face Shop recently came out with a new range called Yehwadam and I was able to try their Revitalising Serum and the Snow Lotus Brightening Pearl Capsule Cream. Both are great if you’re looking into adding some oomph into your night time routine – especially on the anti-ageing department.
The name of the line literally goes back to the brand’s natural roots, using herbs, plants, and flowers, to keep you beautiful and prevent signs of ageing.
The main ingredients of the line include Korean Ginseng (skin revitalisation), Safflower (for energised skin, improves skin tone, anti-ageing properties) and Goji Berry (for radiance and controls skin cell ageing).
Since I promised that reviews will be kept short and sweet from now on, let’s get on to the products!
Revitalising Serum
The first thing that struck me when it comes to this product is the pretty packaging. The top part of the bottle has an intricate, flower detail. It looks and feels luxurious without being too heavy so it’s still easy to travel with.
This serum is pretty dense and has a dewy texture. It gets absorbed really quickly, without leaving a sticky feeling. It also has a mild, floral scent that’s not too overpowering.
This baby contains ceramide that helps your skin regenerate and keep you from getting wrinkles.
Lotus flower is also one of the ingredients of this serum that soothes the skin while providing anti-ageing benefits. It also contains some honeysuckle that helps you calm your skin. So if you’re having some redness, puffiness, or even a bit of irritation, this serum can help.
The serum comes in a 45ml bottle and retails in Malaysia for RM208.90 excluding the GST.
Snow Lotus Brightening Pearl Capsule Cream
A problem a lot of women face when they age is that their skin starts to get dull. This is why brightening products are becoming quite popular these days – we all want that glow back!
This cream is a two in one product that helps you keep your skin moisturised, thus preventing wrinkles and it also gives you a brightening effect – instantly.
It’s lightly scented – slightly floral with a hint of musk – and has a really creamy texture. It’s also quite fun to use since you have to crush one of the pearls to get some of the serum inside to apply on your skin.
At first, I found the pearl crushing bit kind of gimmicky but it actually has purpose – the pearls prevent the product inside from oxidising too quickly or being contaminated. I love this cream’s texture. It’s light and easily spreadable on the face so a little goes a long way and it also gets absorbed well.
The cream retails for Rm257.90 excluding GST and comes in a 50g pot with a spatula for hygiene.
The Verdict
While this range is on the pricier side, it would be a mistake to miss out on this. After a little over two weeks of using the products, I noticed that my skin has indeed gotten brighter and some fine lines that were starting to develop were less visible. They also look great on my vanity so that’s also a plus.
More later!
Love,
Carol
*This post is in collaboration with The Face Shop but in no way affected the writer’s opinions on the product.
I just received this serum last week along with the toner and emulsion as a sample gift from The Face Shop with my order of other products. And I am LOVING this serum. It is what I am reaching for over what one I actually bought. So now I am going to order this and try out more from this line.
It really is an awesome range! 🙂
