So sorry for yet another short hiatus! I was in Siem Reap over the weekend getting my Tomb Raider on with the husband. But that will be for a different post on a different day. 😉
Today, I want to share with you guys an awesome deal I was lucky enough to get to try last week! 😉 And it involves oh-so good food for a good price!
I was invited by a couple of friends to try out the latest menu that Sky 360 especially curated for Parents’ Day. Since my folks are not in KL, I brought my husband along to help with the taste testing and we were practically blown away. (And I don’t say this lightly)
So, without further yapping to get you bored, I’m gonna dive right in and share with you the goodness, shall I?
My absolute favourite and the star of the show is the Grilled Lamb Shoulder with Black Pepper Sauce. The lamb is grilled to perfection – charred on the outside and extremely tender on the inside with the prettiest hint of pink. The sauce is thick and tasty with the right kick of spice along with the savoury. It comes with mashed potatoes, coleslaw, corn on the cob.
The lamb even passed the ultimate test: my husband. He normally doesn’t eat lamb because of the smell it comes with when it’s not fresh. But that night, he actually loved the lamb and gave it a rare thumbs up! 😉
If you’re more of a white meat kind of person, there’s also the Grilled Chicken Chop with BBQ Sauce. It also comes with the same side dishes as the lamb – mashed potatoes, coleslaw, and corn on the cob. The char-grilled chicken chop is also tasty, perfectly grilled, and comes with smoked hickory BBQ sauce that is not short on the flavour at all.
Normally, I’m not a fan of aglio olio pasta as I find it too oily for my liking. But this seafood variant that they served us totally changed my mind. First, it’s actually to pretty to eat. Look at that presentation! When you actually do get over how awesome it looks and you finally dig in, you are surprised with an explosion of flavours in your mouth. I would have to admit that I had quite a lot of this pasta that night and I had to go to the gym the next morning to burn all the calories. No complaints, though! It was worth it!
For traditionally Asian parents, here’s a treat: The Special Sky 360 Fried Rice. It comes with seafood fried rice, spicy chicken wings, a fried egg (of course!), and acar jelatah. To my non-Malaysian readers, acar jelatah is a colourful vegetable mix that usually comes with chilli and onions. Kinda like an Asian version of the salsa. 😉
How in the world did I skip the soup? Yes, I was too excited with the lamb. 😛 The Wild Mushroom Soup with Garlic Bread is actually a meal on its own. I say this because it is really filling! The chef did not scrimp on the ingredients, particularly the mushrooms. The soup is thick and not too salty which can be a common danger for most kinds of mushroom soup.
The garlic bread is flavourful thanks to the garlic bits and other spices on it. It’s also crisp and photogenic. Imagine that on your Instagram! 😉
And now we move on to dessert!
Vanilla, chocolate, or strawberry. You can take your pick when it comes to the flavours. 😉 Dig a little deeper as that scoop of ice cream doesn’t come plain – there are surprises in that cup!
Now this is some major #FoodPorn! I love love love how the Mango Pudding looked. So much, that I ended up taking way too many photos of it. 😀 Oh, and even though it’s dessert, it made me feel less guilty since it’s made of mangoes and other fruits like strawberries as toppings. Healthy dessert, anyone? 😉
Sky 360 is located at the Rooftop (R Level on the lift) of the E-City hotel. A modern, stylish hotel located in One City – an integrated development in the Subang Jaya area (also near to Shah Alam and Putra Heights).
(Need a Google Map going there? Click HERE)
It’s basically a city within a city as you’ve got everything you need in that area – a mall, a cinema, restaurants, event venues, etc.
The way up to Sky 360 is also a treat as you will be in a glass elevator which will give you a great view of the development. The restaurant itself has a chic and relaxing ambiance, perfect for a lovely dinner with your parents or any loved one for that matter.
The Parents’ Day menu comes in two sets. Everything goes so well with each other making it a gastronomic experience for you and your loved ones. Price-wise, it is also very affordable!
True, Mother’s Day has passed but Father’s Day is coming up! Also, shouldn’t everyday be a day to say thank you to your mom and dad? Treat them to a fancy meal and reminisce about your childhood with them without breaking the bank. 😉
Let me know how it goes and which ones are your faves! <3
Love,
Carol
